The Bills decided Wednesday to sign DE Mark Anderson to a contract they'll likely come to regret (or end early). The former Patriot will reportedly get $27.5 million over 4 years, with $8 million of that guaranteed. Anderson performed well as a pass rusher in his lone season with the Patriots, producing 10 sacks as a situational player. It was his 2nd double-digit sack season in 6 years as a pro. (In between he tallied 13 sacks over 4 seasons, with no more than 4.5 in any single year.) The problem is he's just a situational player. Anderson rated well in run D last year, according to Pro Football Focus. He also played just 47.2% of the Patriots' total defensive snaps. Even that number was inflated by a dramatic increase in playing time after Andre Carter hit IR. For fantasy owners, Anderson could be a sack threat but is very risky. He will never be a tackle producer. He's a matchup play at best.
