ORCHARD PARK, NY – The Buffalo Bills today announced that TE Scott Chandler has agreed to terms on a contract extension with the team. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Chandler caught 38 passes for 389 yards and six touchdowns in 14 games with nine starts in 2011. His six touchdown catches matched a single-season franchise-record among tight ends. Chandler’s 38 catches marked the most by a Buffalo tight end since 2001 and eighth-most since 1990.
Chandler was claimed and awarded off waivers from the Dallas Cowboys by Buffalo on December 3, 2010. The 6-7, 260-pound Iowa product originally entered the NFL as 2007 fourth-round draft pick of the San Diego Chargers. He spent the 2009 season on the Cowboys practice squad before being signed to the active roster of the New York Giants for the final two games.
