When you think of the Patriots, you think of Tom Brady, Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski or probably coach Bill Belichick. Throughout this stretch of domination the last 10 years, players have bought into being “no names” and just playing as a team. This is hard for guys to do because they are all great athletes and want their name recognized. Nobody has mastered this better than Kevin Faulk.
Faulk was a college superstar at LSU. He set many records and was rewarded by being selected in the 2nd round in the 1999 draft. He has been active every year since being drafted.
Faulk has always been a very reliable player, and played huge rolls in the Patriots’ three Super Bowl victories. Even with all this success, he keeps his mouth closed and goes to work every day, just like coach Belichick wants. He is willing to do whatever it takes to win another championship.
I asked Faulk if he has had time to reflect on all these Super Bowls. Like a true champion and Patriot, he let me know that he will reflect on them when he done playing. But for now, his focus is on this game and preparing like he has done now for over a decade.
So this weekend, when watching the biggest game of the year, remember it’s guys like Kevin Faulk that keep the Patriot Dynasty going.
