New York Jets wide receiver Plaxico Burress isn’t talking like a man who is coming back to the Jets next season. Or perhaps, he has found enlightenment and is simply not to be troubled by the meaningless questions of this world.
On quarterback Mark Sanchez, Burress said, “Mark Sanchez is Mark Sanchez.”
Asked if he was happy how his year with the Jets went, he said, “It went as it went.”
Asked if the Jets used him to the best of his capabilities, he said, “They used me the way they wanted to use me.”
Asked about the locker room fallout at the Jets this season, he said, “The Jets locker room is the Jets locker room.”
Perhaps if he had a new receivers coach? I’m not sure if he’s available, but here’s a thought:
To be fair, Burress did say a little more things about his potential return. “I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he said. “It’s a business first. I’ll evaluate my options going into the offseason and I’ll make my decision based on that.”
Sounds very unlikely that Burress will be bringing his talents back to the Jets next season.
