Matt Cassel Undergoes Hand Surgery

Chiefs QB Matt Cassel underwent hand surgery on Wednesday. Head coach Todd Haley confirmed that the team is not sticking him on IR, hoping to get him back late in the year.  “We’re just giving as much time as we can to see where he is,” Haley said.  “I would say there is potential (for a return),” the coach said, “but that really depends here on this first week and how things go.” We'd still bet against Cassel playing this season, but we'll have to see how his recovery goes.
