Jets Prepare For Tebow on Short Week

The Jets must forget quickly the bad taste of last Sunday nights game against New England, a 37-16 loss, and get ready for the Tim Tebow Show in Denver on Thursday night.

Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis feels the Jets have a good game plan for the running quarterback. The Jets will stack the box with defenders to force Tebow to try and throw.  The Jets know that Denver wants to run the ball as much as possible, which makes Revis feel he will have a “boring night.”

Revis said earlier this week that the style of play that the Broncos employ would only work if they had Michael Vick or someone like Chris Johnson, with his speed.

Tebow only completed two passes on eight attempts last week against the Chiefs.  The Jets feel that if they stuff the run and make Tebow throw, they will have a big advantage.

Jets Cornerback Darrelle Revis

Throwing the ball has not been Tebow’s strength, and with All Pro cornerback Darrelle Revis on the field, the Jets have a definite advantage.

The Jets must get back to winning ways and it must start Thursday.  The Jets have won three of the last four games, but are tied for second place in the division with the Buffalo Bills, and are one game behind the New England Patriots, who have beaten them twice.  The margin of error is slim to have a chance to win the division, and the Wild Card battle looks extremely tight this season, so this is another must win game for the Jets.

I feel the Jets will bounce back strong on the road from last week’s loss and make this a statement game, putting them right back in the thick of the playoff hunt!

On the injury front

Safety Brodney Poole is unsure if he will play Thursday.  He has a sprained MCL.

Wide receiver Jeremy Kerley has a sprained knee from last Sunday night’s game.  He is waiting for his MRI results.

Wide receiver Patrick Turner, who caught his first pass last Sunday, has a bruised kidney and he is unlikely to play Thursday.

Running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a sprained knee and will not play Thursday.

Cornerback Darrelle Revis was limited in practice on Tuesday due to a knee injury.  No word on his status for Thursday.

Rookie Bilal Powell will see his first action of the season on Thursday.
