On Thursday, April 26th the lives of 32 young men are going to change forever. For the first time ever, the NFL Draft will be held at an NFL Stadium; AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, home of the Dallas Cowboys. We know the date, the start time (8pm ET), and the location, but what we don’t know is which young man will have their life changed first. Granted, as fans and analysts we rarely know without a doubt who will be chosen first, but this year that doubt seems to be widespread. That doubt only compounds at picks two, three, four, and so on. There were a total of 10 trades made within the first round the 2017 NFL Draft, and the 2018 Draft is already off to a similar start. So far the New York Jets have traded up to third pick, the Buffalo Bills have traded up to the 12th pick while still holding on to their 22nd pick, and the Patriots have traded for the 23rd pick while also holding on to their 31st pick. Buffalo and New England could both be considering quarterbacks of the future so it wouldn’t be surprising to see them trade up again. The Arizona Cardinals and the Miami Dolphins have also been linked to trade rumors in their own search for quarterback of the future. For now, this is how the first round draft order looks:
1. Cleveland Browns
2. New York Giants
3. New York Jets
4. Cleveland Browns
5. Denver Broncos
6. Indianapolis Colts
7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
8. Chicago Bears
9. San Francisco 49ers
10. Oakland Raiders
11. Miami Dolphins
12. Buffalo Bills
13. Washington Redskins
14. Green Bay Packers
15. Arizona Cardinals
16. Baltimore Ravens
17. Los Angeles Chargers
18. Seattle Seahawks
19. Dallas Cowboys
20. Detroit Lions
21. Cincinnati Bengals
22. Buffalo Bills
23. New England Patriots
24. Carolina Panthers
25. Tennessee Titans
26. Atlanta Falcons
27. New Orleans Saints
28. Pittsburgh Steelers
29. Jacksonville Jaguars
30. Minnesota Vikings
31. New England Patriots
32. Philadelphia Eagles
Having the draft at AT&T stadium has allowed the league to make 60,000 tickets available to fans. Once again, Texas goes bigger. At the 2017 NFL Draft, only 12,000 tickets were made available. With 60,000 fans in attendance, and the addition of the “Inner Circle” experience, the draft will certainly reach a new level of excitement for all involved, especially the prospects. The prospects planning to attend the draft are as follows:The draft will be televised on ESPN and the NFL Network. It can also be live-streamed WatchESPN, NFL.com and Fox Sports Go. In the first round each team will be given 10 minutes to make their selection. In round two, teams are given only seven minutes to make their pick. That time limit will decrease again to five minutes for rounds three through six and finally fall to four minutes per selection in round seven.
