Jets Trade Mason to Texans

The Jets traded wide receiver Derrick Mason to the Houston Texans for a 7th round draft pick.  Mason was unhappy with the offense and was one of three players to complain about the offense this week.

We all know heac coach Rex Ryan does not like players complaining about coaches and schemes.  Last week Mason was in on only three plays and was replaced as the third receiver by rookie Jeremy Kerley, who caught his first NFL touchdown.

This week, the Jets worked out running back Lousaka Polite.  He was with the Dolphins for the last three years, and also played three years with the Cowboys.  No contract has been signed as of yet.

The Jets did sign CB Ellis Lankster and waived linebacker Eddie Jones.  Lankster was in camp with the Jets before being waived in August.

Quarterback Mark Sanchez hurt his hand last Sunday on New England DE Andre Carter’s helmet; however, there are no lingering effects and Sanchez should be fine for Monday night’s game against the Dolphins.

Defensive back Donald Strickland took a shot to the head last week.  It is not confirmed if it is a concussion, but he will not play on Monday against the Dolphins.
