I think we can all agree that we live in a pretty impulsive and self indulgent society. I’m an entrepreneur and dream of new business ideas daily, so I understand wanting to jump on things as soon as you get the feeling. Funny thing is happening the older I get, I’m becoming less impulsive. I can remember not giving a care in the world when I was younger, but now, I take my time to think things through. Now I still pursue some ideas, but I’m not concerned if I choose not to or decide to hold off for a while.
“Wisdom and money can get you almost anything,
but only wisdom can save your life.” – Ecclesiastes 7:12
We hear a lot of seize the moment quotes and in life I believe it’s good to at times, however, after reading this proverb today I am reminded of how much self control & wisdom is an underrated commodity. I encourage people to chase their dreams a lot, but only as long as wisdom is along for the ride. A lot of trainwrecks could have been avoided if we took the time to actually think things through before making a decision to move forward. I pray that you each find the path of your heart’s desire. You should in fact seize the moment, as long as you remember that all moments are not meant to be seized. We can in fact be on the path to realizing our dreams sooner than we think when we use a little wisdom!
