NFL Combine: Tight Ends Full Measurements

Last year was a down year for tight ends after the elite four or five. There was a sense that around 15 tight ends around the league could have a strong impact on their team. The position that is known as a safety blanket and the QBs best friend doesn’t come into this draft with a lot of hype this year. This year, there only seems to be one tight end that stands out from the rest and that is Maxx Williams from Minnesota. He came in at what was expected from him, measuring 6’4 249 lbs with a 33 and half inch arm length and a hand size of 10 3/8^th inch.

Of the other tight end prospects, Clive Walford from Miami and Nick O’Leary of Florida State are 2 interesting prospects that with a good day of field drills could find their way into the 2^nd round. Walford had a very good week at the Senior Bowl, which has him climbing the rankings. After those 3 guys, no one is expected to crack the top 2 rounds and probably will not be one taken early in the 3^rd. This seems more like a year to find a solid blocking tight end or someone that you can pick late in the draft with a higher upside.
