Final Pro Bowl Fan Voting Numbers Released

With the fan portion of the voting (counts for a third of the voting, just like coaches and players) concluding on Monday, the official numbers for the top-10 vote-getters, along with the top vote-getters at each position were released today (via Josh Sanchez, editor and chief at Fansided.com).

Players and coaches vote for their choices on Friday, so it will be interesting to see how the final picks look in comparison to what the fan vote decided. With how it stands now, among the 38 players at the top vote-getting spot at their positions, nine are from the Cleveland Browns, five are from the Green Bay Packers, four are from the Dallas Cowboys, three are from the Denver Broncos, Seattle Seahawks, and Pittsburgh Steelers, and two are from the New England Patriots, with nine teams having one player among the top vote-getters at a position.

As ESPN Detroit Lions reporter Michael Rothstein pointed out, the recent comments regarding fan voting of Lions free safety Glover Quin, whose view that fan voting shouldn’t start until Week 13 was covered in one of our previous Pro Bowl columns, may have helped his cause, as he was 10th in fan voting at his position after previously not being listed among the top ten vote-getters at free safety. The official announcement of who has been selected to the Pro Bowl by the fans, coaches and players will be made on Tuesday, December 23 at 8 p.m. on NFL Network.
