Fantasy Football: NFL Week 11 Starts and Sits

Last week was a weird week. I pushed the limit on matchups with players that probably didn’t deserve the push. Players like Kenny Britt and Justin Hunter are just too much of a risk to base their start and sit purely on matchup. Even though I like Hunter again this week as a bounce back, I’m going to keep it to players that you should be deciding between, not picking up just to start them. And as usual, if you have to make a decision regarding a player that isn’t below, you can just tweet me @pacman453323. So let’s get into the Week 11 Starts and Sits.

Starts: (outside of top 10 players of that position):

QBs

NFL: Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons

Robert Griffin III – The Redskins have one of the best schedules in terms of having a good schedule for their QB. During the time he was gone, they realized that maybe the grass wasn’t greener on the other side. I expect him to use Jordan Reed more and the bye week will help him get re-acclimated with Garcon and Reed to push the offense a little more.

Josh McCown – So far this year, McCown has played above average in every start he’s been given. He has 3 more “plus” matchups this year, with two of them being this week and next week. He’s in an offense that is the same offense that was being run in Chicago when he produced very well. He also has 2 big WRs like in Chicago. The offense just fits him right.

RBs

Terrance West – As I said last week, there is not a RB in the league that has an easier run defense schedule than Terrence West. The Browns now face their 5th straight game against 1 of the worst 10 rush defenses in the league. He’s the lead back, but still shares some carries.

Frank Gore – If you don’t know why I’m recommending Gore, all I have to say is 350 yards. That is how many rushing yards the Giants allowed last week to the Seahawks. Marshawn Lynch had 4 TDs without being touched. Gore won’t have a game like that because Carlos Hyde may get in on the fun, but I do expect 100+ yards and at least 1 TD.

WRs

Atlanta Falcons v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Roddy White – Two weeks in a row for the veteran on my “Start” list. The Falcons play a Carolina team that played “El Matador” defense against the Eagles. On a side note, beware of being too high on Mark Sanchez, the Panthers have been a top 10 worst team against QBs. He will NOT do that every week.

Pierre Garcon – This is probably my last chance to get something out of Garcon. He faces 1 of the worst pass defenses in the league, he has his old QB back, and he shouldn’t be double teamed with the weapons surrounding him. If he bombs out this week, it may be cutting time.

TEs

Travis Kelce – One of the things that Seattle just can’t seem to do right this year is cover the TE. Even though Donnell didn’t have a great game last week, he still had a couple red zone opportunities and could have had a much bigger day if the game didn’t get out of hand.

Sits:

QBs

Jay Cutler – It can’t get much worse for Jay Cutler. After a horrible performance by the entire Bears team, they will be favored at home against Minnesota. However, I think running the ball with Matt Forte is the way for them to go. The Vikings cover the pass well and may get a couple turnovers out of Cutler this week.

Eli Manning – The Giants are in trouble this week. The 49ers maybe without All-Pro LB Patrick Willis, but they get back their sack artist Aldon Smith. They have already been a good team against both the pass and rush and with how the Giants defense the rush their offense may not see the field too much.

RBs

Rays3

Rashad Jennings – You can pretty much copy my comments from under Eli Manning and paste them here. It will be a welcomed sight for Giants fans to see Jennings back out there, but I don’t see him exactly breaking out his 1st game back against this defense.

Reggie Bush – Anyone that knows me, knows that I’m not the biggest Reggie Bush fan in the 1st place, but add in that he is going against a Lions defense that is 1 of the best rush defenses in the league and it justifies keeping him on the bench. I actually think Detroit could win this game, but it will be through the air, not on the ground.

WRs

TY Hilton – If the Colts are going to beat the Patriots, in what could be the best Sunday Night Football game this year, they are going to have to use all their weapons. The best are the best in the league at taking away the other team’s best option, and Hilton will be their target.

Marques Colston – It’s obvious that Colston has lost a step. He is not the same WR that dominated the middle of the field and was one of Drew Brees’ favorite targets. Ingram will probably be able to run all over the Bengals if last week was any indication, but as far as a passing attack, Cincy is pretty darn good.

TEs

Mychal Rivera – There was a lot of hype regarding the Carr to Rivera connection. He had a good game with 6 catches for 64 yards and a TD, but now he faces a Chargers defense that has allowed the 3rd fewest PPG to TEs all year. Keep Rivera on your bench.

Those are your Week 11 Starts and Sits in the NFL. Enjoy the games.
