Fantasy Football: NFL Week 7 Starts and Sits

This week I’m bringing up some people that may have struggled last week that I expect to get back to normal. However, I’ll also be bringing up some guys that maybe hot pickups and starts that I think you should hold off on starting for this week at least. And as usual, if you have to make a decision regarding a player that isn’t below, you can just tweet me @pacman453323. So without further ado, let’s get into the Week 7 Starts and Sits.

Starts: (outside of top 10 players of that position):

QBs

Russell Wilson – It was an uncharacteristically bad week for Russell. He was chased around and harassed by the off of a sudden, top tier defense of the Dallas Cowboys. This week Wilson will get back to his usual self against a team that has inexplicably only one sack all year. He can put up similar to Kaepernick’s 370 total yards and 3 TDs.

Brian Hoyer – I think Hoyer will have a good solid week against the Jaguars defense that made Charlie Whitehurst look playable. With injuries and bye weeks to go along with inconsistent play of QBs like Kirk Cousins and etc, Hoyer makes for a solid play this week.

RBs

Ben Tate – If you look up the schedule for the Browns, you’ll see that Tate faces 6 defenses between now and week 16 with a bottom 10 defense against RBs. When healthy, he has top 10, running back in the league, ability, but health is always the question with him. Ride him to the playoffs while he’s on the field for now.

Justin Forsett – This recommendation comes with a little asterisk. Knowshon Moreno was supposed to be out a few more weeks, but all of a sudden, it looks like he may play this week. If Miller can keep his 15-17 touches, he could have a big week, but if not, he could go back into a boom or bust player.

WRs

Headline2

Percy Harvin – After giving a big bag of nothing to his fantasy owners last week, I assume everyone is down on Harvin right now. However, the Rams give up the 3rd most point in the league to WRs and Harvin is due for a breakout game after getting three TDs taken away on Monday night and now this. Stick with him, he has a great schedule.

Golden Tate – Speaking of people to give another chance, Tate was a very disappointing 44 yards on 7 catches last week. He dropped a few and was just a little off from having a big game. Megatron is expected to be out again this week and he will be their #1 target.

TEs

Larry Donnell – I have been killing Donnell for two weeks and for two weeks I’ve been right about him. However, this week he gets a break against a Cowboy’s defense that isn’t great against TEs. Donnell probably has the best schedule of any player, per position, in the league the rest of the way with 7 games against bottom 10 defenses vs TEs. Buy low on him now before he gets hot again.

Sits:

QBs

Eli Manning – One of the biggest surprises in fantasy, as well as real, football is how well the Dallas Cowboy’s defense has played. Now of course Eli normally plays well against Dallas, so you can base your decision off of that, but I’d stay away from starting him this week if it was me.

Andy Dalton – Without star WR AJ Green, Dalton is just an average QB. He uses more short passes to Mohammad Sanu, Gresham, and Bernard. Dalton also is much known for playing very well against bad defense and playing horribly against good defenses. This week I think we see the bad side of Dalton.

RBs

Branden Oliver – I think this is more of a “lower your expectations” than a “bench him” type of recommendation. Oliver has shown the ability to catch passes out of the backfield and can save his day doing that, but I think he’ll have a hard time scoring or finding running room against a Chiefs defense that is hyped for this divisional matchup.

Jerick McKinnon – Even though McKinnon is probably the future back for the Vikings, he is still young and will be inconsistent. The Vikings came out and said they need to give Asiata some more carries, after McKinnon completely dominated the ball last week. It’s a sign that they don’t fully trust the young back yet, but it’s coming soon.

WRs

Reggie Wayne – In a PPR league you probably can get away with still starting Wayne, but I don’t expect a great stat line from him. The Bengals defense overall hasn’t been good this year, but they still have the talent. They are still good against WRs and give up only the 6th fewest points to WRs so far this year.

Marques Colston – With Jimmy Graham out, you’d expect Colston to get some extra targets, but he will also get some extra attention. He has not been able to create separation and the Saints seem to realize that and should use what seems to be a new found power running game. Ingram is due back this week and Robinson has been running well.

TEs

Heath Miller – The Steelers played unbelievably horrible last week in an embarrassing loss against the Cleveland Browns. The team can run the ball, but every other facet of their team game seems to be struggling. Miller had only two catches for 19 yards and now faces a Texans team that is a top 10 defense vs TEs.

Those are your Week 7 Starts and Sits in the NFL. Enjoy the games.
