Foxworth Out For the Rest of Year

Baltimore Ravens cornerback Domonique Foxworth has been placed on the injured reserve and will miss the rest of this season, after missing the entire 2010 season recovering from a knee injury suffered at the start of training camp in 2010.

The knee has been continuing to bother him, as Foxworth indicated just last week, “It sucks.  I had a lot of pain during camp.  It’s still hurting.  This is where we are.”

Foxworth played a major role on the player’s side of the table during the lockout and subsequent negotiations.  It’s not clear if not having access to the trainers and medical staff during the lockout have prolonged his recovery, but it certainly didn’t help.

Peyton Manning was very vocal over the summer about his rehabilitation being prolonged by not having access to team facilities, trainers and medical staff, and now he appears likely to be out for the entire season as well.

The Ravens filled the open roster spot by signing linebacker Prescott Burgess to the team.  Burgess led the Ravens in special teams tackles the last two year.
