After previously being nominated for honors of Man and Women of the Year, two Tennessee Titans affiliates continue their effort in honoring their nomination of the prestigious award.
Titan’s cornerback Coty Sensabaugh and cheerleader Chasity Adkisson worked together in an effort to find a cure for blood cancer. Earlier this week the two of them paired up with famous fashion designer, Jimmy Choo and together they trio helped organize the “Choose to Cure Cancer” fundraising event. The event was held in the home of Rick and Amy Olszewki and featured an exquisite private shopping event of Men and Women Summer and Pre-Fall Jimmy Choo Collection available on-sight to purchase.
The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Man and Women of the Year award must be followed by a 10-week campaign to raise money for research. Portions (10%) of the “Choose to Cure Cancer” proceeds went to Chasity’s campaign for 2014 LLS Women of the Year. Sensabaugh and Chasity have both gone through hardships of losing a family member due to Leukemia and have expressed their interest in helping others avoid this tragedy all together.
Support for Chasity’s event has come from all over. Jason McCourty, Delanie Walker, Michael Grffin and Andy Levitre all showed their support by attending the event and helping teammate Coty Sensabaugh. Sensabaugh and Rick Olszweki’s relationship has dated back a few years. Olszweski, 2012 LLS Man of the Year, helped Sensabaugh’s campaign after he was nominated a year ago. Another year has passed and Olszweki has offered to help Chasity in her campaign as well. The support being shown for these campaigns have been substantial and the recognition of these events have grown within the past years. This event does not only support finding a cure to cancer but helps give acknowledgment to Jimmy Choo’s Summer and Fall fashion collection.
Jimmy Choo sponsored the “Choose to Cure Cancer” event; the Vice President of their company even flew from New York City to attend also.
The “Choose to Cure Cancer” has proven to be beneficial to all parties involved. The Tennessee Titan’s organization has gotten involved in something bigger than football. The class shown by this organization, whether it is players or cheerleaders, has been great in finding a cure for such a horrible disease. Times like these often show the true heart of some people and with a little support from people around, along with a dream, events can reach a level one would never think of.
