The Miami Dolphins added two new players to their defense today, signing defensive tackle Igor Olshansky and cornerback Nate Jones.
The signings add some much-needed depth to the Miami defense, particularly since the Fins sustained a few key injuries Sunday against the Houston Texans that are questionable for this week. The two most critical injuries are corner Vontae Davis, who left the game with a hamstring injury, and linebacker Karlos Dansby, who sustained a groin injury.
A veteran drafted in 2004 by the Dallas Cowboys, Jones returns to Miami where he played in 2008 and 2009, following a year with the Denver Broncos. Olshansky, meanwhile, heads to Miami following two seasons as a Cowboy. A second-team All-Pac-10 player out of the University of Oregon, he was drafted in the second round (35th overall) in 2004 by the San Diego Chargers.
The Dolphins opened roster space by releasing tight end Dante Rosario and running back Larry Johnson.
