Vick Concussion as Eagles Fall to Falcons

It was a tough night for Michael Vick and the Philadelphia Eagles.  In a prime time game, the Eagles fell to the Atlanta Falcons 35-31 and Vick was knocked from the game in the third quarter.

As Vick was leaving the game, he was seen spitting blood, which he later revealed was due to biting his tongue.  Eagles head coach Andy Reid revealed after the game that Vick had suffered a concussion.

While he was in the game, Vick went 19 of 28 for 242 yards and 2 TDs with 1 INT.  Mike Kafka came in when Vick left with the injury and went 7 of 9 for 72 yards.

Atlanta was up 21-10 entering the third quarter, but the Eagles battled back and took the lead 21-31 on two TD runs by Lesean McCoy and a TD pass from Vick to Jeremy Maclin early in the third.

The Falcons came back to score 14 unanswered points in the fourth quarter, with Vick sitting on the sideline watching.  The Falcons took the lead for good with 4:48 left in the game on a 3-yard TD run by Michael Turner.

The loss drops the Eagles to 1-1, and now they will have to deal with the unknown as far as Vick’s injury goes.  Vince Young was inactive again for the team, so it would appear that if Vick is not ready to go, Mike Kafka would get the call again as the starter.
