Jerry Jones is Not Making a Coaching Change Up – Just Yet

Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones is making a lot of changes within the team. First decision Jones had to make was to release DeMarcus Ware. Jones had to make an executive decision to make more cap room for other players, he then signed former Brown’s quarterback Brandon Weeden.jason-garrett

There have been speculations that head coach Jason Garrett maybe on the hot seat if he does not do well this season, but Jones has responded to the allegations. “I don’t think so,” Jones said at the NFL Annual Meeting, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. “I don’t look at it that way at all. It’s no secret that we probably are shoulder to shoulder on the success we’d like for this team to have with him as head coach and what it would do for our fans’ future, our future. “He’s more capable today than he was when he took over as head coach. If that arrow is going up, it just makes sense to have our future with Jason.”

“We really haven’t talked about that at all,” Garrett said Wednesday at the NFC breakfast during the owners meetings. “Again, my focus is on coaching to the  best of my ability each and every day and to try to help the Dallas Cowboys  become a better football team. “We’ve played in the Week 17 game to win the division the last three years.  We put ourselves in the position to achieve our immediate goal, which is to win the NFC East. Hopefully that takes us on a path to be a Super Bowl champion. We feel like we have the guys to do it.”

“I have a lot of beliefs about football, football teams, and teams in general, how you coach,” Garrett said. “I have a lot of strong beliefs in that area. I’m convicted about a lot of those things just like any coach would be. I think it’s important you stick by those beliefs and philosophies and convictions. “Having said that, you’re always trying to grow, you’re always trying to evolve, and you’re always trying to look at better ways to do things.”

With Jerry Jones desperately looking for his team to get in the playoffs, you will have to understand that this season Garrett will have a lot of pressure on his back. The Cowboys have yet to make the playoffs in 4 years under Garrett.
