Lions Take Titus Young With 44th Pick

With the 12th pick in the second round of the NFL draft, the Detroit Lions selected Boise State receiver Titus Young.

Analysis: Detroit nabs another target they hope can take some attention away from Calvin Johnson and also help out on special teams, where he was a star at Boise State. If 2009 first-round quarterback Matthew Stafford can stay healthy, he’ll have another weapon to use on offense in addition to Johnson and Nate Burleson.

Alum: Hall of Fame running back Barry Sanders announced the pick to a rousing ovation from fans who’ve still never seen anybody as awesome as he was.
