New Orleans Saints wide receiver Marques Colston broke his collarbone in Thursday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers. Colston is likely to be out for at least four weeks, according to ESPN.
On Friday, head coach Sean Payton acknowledged that Colston was banged up in the final seconds of the loss; however, Payton said he would not provide further details until the Saints’ official injury report on Wednesday.
Colston is one of the main weapons in the Saints passing game, as he hauled in six receptions for 81 yards in the opener. Colston has gone over 1000 yards in each of the last two seasons, pulling in 84 receptions for 1,023 yards and 7 touchdowns last year.
With Colston out and wide receiver Lance Moore’s status uncertain, after he missed the opener with a groin injury, the Saints are fighting the injury bug early in the season with some key weapons in their passing game.
