After the Baltimore Ravens couldn’t get a trade in place in time and passed on the 26th pick in the NFL draft, the Kansas City Chiefs slid up and used that pick to select Pittsburgh receiver Jonathan Baldwin.
Analysis: Odd situation for the Ravens, who appeared to be close to a deal as their time expired and risked losing out on the player they wanted. But the Chiefs took Baldwin, who was not a Baltimore target, so no harm done to the Ravens. For Kansas City, Baldwin slots in on the opposite side of the field from 2010 breakout star Dwayne Bowe and gives QB Matt Cassell another huge target (Baldwin is 6-foot-4) on the outside.
