From designing jewelry to sewing garments, and even to interior decorating, Shannon Saint Clair was always passionate about creating art, which stems from childhood when her mother taught her how to sew at age five. During her school years, Shannon designed jewelry from seashells she collected on the beach, designed and sewed pendants with beads and doll faces, and created jewelry with moldable plastic materials that she sold at local craft shows with her mom. She was voted Most Artistic out of her high school’s senior class and graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor’s Degree.
Destined to turn her hobbies into a profession, she opened her first company in 2003 in St. Louis, where her husband played for the Rams. She designed jerseys for other players’ wives to wear at the games because they wanted jerseys similar to the one she created by cutting up a pair of her husband’s workout shorts. Shannon officially launched her couture jewelry collection in 2008 with her husband John, who is an 11-Year NFL veteran.
Her Handcrafted Couture Jewelry is sold online and in several boutiques throughout the country. These baubles have been exhibited at several noteworthy fashion shows, galas, trunk shows and gifting suites. Shannon provided the jewelry for Chansi Stuckey’s wedding, where Chansi, his wife Jasmin, the groomsmen, the flower girl and even the ring bearer walked down the aisle wearing her jewelry. She also sold her jewelry to players including Jared Odrick and Kevin Carter at Chad Henne and John Gilmore’s Rally for Recreation Foundation weekend in Pennsylvania.
Her Sanctity Beads Collection was featured in a VIP Style Lounge for Kentucky Derby weekend, exclusively for celebrities, where Wayne Brady, Joey Fatone, Boyz II Men, & Salt N Pepa sported her bracelets. This jewelry designer partnered with the United Athletes Foundation (UAF) with their Charity Weekend in NYC. UAF is a non-profit foundation founded by NFL veteran Reggie Howard and his collaboration with NFL, NBA, MLB, & WNBA players who are members.
Shannon sold jewelry to pro athletes & players’ wives such as Football Wives Reality Star Chanita Foster and retired NBA player Derek Anderson, at UAF’s Floss Magazine Fashion Show on April 29th, and also the following night at their Black Tie Gala, hosted by Ray Lewis. In March, this jewelry line was exhibited all four days at Miami Beach Fashion Week, and the designer received numerous press interviews. In February, Shannon Saint Clair Jewelry was featured in the 12th Annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration’s Official Backstage Talent Gifting Lounge presented by Maui Jim Sunglasses, and in the NFL PLAYERS XLV Luxury Lifestyle Lounge presented by Reebok & Maui Jim Sunglasses during Super Bowl weekend in Dallas, where Bears Quarterback Caleb Hanie was photographed wearing her bracelet.
Awards have been received by this talented jewelry designer including the ”NFLPA Alumni Association’s 2011 Player Networking Event Award,” for achieving the most successful business co-owned with her husband. Shannon ranked #3 in SOFI Magazine’s The Arts Issue as one of the “33 Emerging Creative Minds You Need to Know for 2011.” She was also interviewed on NBC6 LIVE MIAMI Show in July and is scheduled to do a second appearance on December 8th.
