In a game loaded with history, it was business as usual for the Green Bay Packers as they pushed their record to 3-0 by defeating the Chicago Bears 27-17 at Soldier Field, dropping the Bears to 1-2.
Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers threw for 297 yards and 3 touchdowns, all to Jermichael Finley who ended the day with 7 receptions for 85 yards. Greg Jenning had 9 receptions for 119 yards.
The Packers also reached 100 yards rushing as a team, behind Ryan Grants 92 yards on 17 carries.
The Packers defense completely shut down the Bears running game, as the Bears totaled just 13 yards on 12 carries.
In a week where Jay Cutler commented that he wasn’t sure if he could survive the season taking the pounding he took through the first two weeks, offensive coordinator Mike Martz continued to focus on the passing game.
Cutler was sacked 3 times, bringing his season total to 14, and attempted 37 passes. He ended the game with 302 passing yards with 2 TDs and 2 INTs.
Matt Forte had 80 receiving yards on 7 catches, but just 2 yards rushing on 9 carries.
