UPDATE -Colts DT Eric Foster will require surgery to repair his dislocated ankle, according to Colts coach Jim Caldwell, and the surgery is expected to end his season. Foster sent a message to his supporters this morning via Twitter: “Thank u all 4 such kind words. I thank u Lord in Advance. Women around the world gettn treated 4 cancer. May God have mercy on all o us.”
VIDEO – As the Buccaneers came from behind to defeat Indianapolis on Monday night, Colts DT Eric Foster’s leg and foot were bent backwards in an injury that can only adequately be described as “Theismann-like.”
The leg clearly appeared to be broken and it would be shocking if he was able to play again this season. He was carried off the field and will undergo additional testing on Monday.
The injury was horrible enough to bring back memories of Redskins quarterback Joe Theismann’s career ending broken leg suffered on a sack by Giants’ linebacker Lawrence Taylor in 1985. The Theismann injury video is below.
