Vikings pick up Alex Boone and Emmanuel Lamur

The Minnesota Vikings have announced the following roster moves:

Boone joins the Vikings after spending the previous 6 seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. The former All-American at Ohio State originally joined the 49ers as an undrafted free agent in 2009 where he spent the entire season on the practice squad. The 28-year old became a full-time starter in 2012 and has appeared in 77 career games, making 59 starts. Boone has started 59 of the last 60 games he has appeared in. The Cleveland native has extensive playoff experience, appearing in 8 games while making 6 starts, including SB XLVII vs. Baltimore in 2013. San Francisco appeared in back-to-back NFC Championship Games in 2012 and 2013. The 49ers rushing attack has ranked in the top 8 in the NFL in 4 of the last 5 seasons. 49ers RB Frank Gore would benefit from Boone and the talented offensive line as he made the Pro Bowl 3 consecutive seasons from 2011-2013. Vikings Offensive Line coach, Tony Sparano, was with Boone in San Francisco in 2015 where he served as the Tight Ends coach.

Lamur (luh-MER), who enters his 5th season in the NFL, joins the Vikings for the 2016 campaign re-uniting with Head Coach Mike Zimmer. During the Bengals 2015 season, the Kansas State product appeared in all 16 regular season games, earning two starts and recorded 32 tackles, 3 PDs, 1 FF and 0.5 sacks. The West Palm Beach, Fla. native’s best season as a pro came in 2014 when he played 14 games, including 13 starts and recorded 90 tackles, 7 PDs and 2 INTs. In his NFL regular season career, Lamur has totaled 141 tackles, 12 PDs, 2 INTs and 1 FF in 39 career games. The former Bengal has appeared in 2 playoff games with Cincinnati earning 1 start collecting 10 playoff tackles.
