Troy Vincent Taps Three Former Players to be Senior Advisors

Jimmy Raye II, Mike Reinfeldt and Mike Singletary Will Advise League Office on Football Matters

Former NFL coach and player JIMMY RAYE II, former Pro Bowl player and general manager MIKE REINFELDT, and Pro Football Hall of Fame player and former head coach MIKE SINGLETARY have been named senior advisors to TROY VINCENT, the NFL’s executive vice president of football operations, the National Football League announced today.

Vincent will consult with his team of advisors on key aspects of football, including developing players and coaches, providing input on past, current and future initiatives, and serving as liaisons to NFL coaches and front office personnel.

“It is exciting to work alongside these legendary football minds in our continuing efforts to enhance our game,” says Vincent. “These men bring sound wisdom, football experience and insight that helps us support our clubs and coaches as well as grow and develop our players and game.”

After playing football in college and the NFL, Raye transitioned into coaching. Raye, whose coaching career spanned 40 seasons, has been an offensive coach for 10 NFL teams, most recently serving as a senior offensive assistant for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
“After 36 years as an NFL coach, this is a great opportunity to work with Commissioner Goodell, Troy Vincent and the NFL clubs in the continuing process of enhancing and growing our great game,” said Raye.

Reinfeldt, a Pro Bowl safety and football executive, played eight seasons with the Houston Oilers and Oakland Raiders. He went on to serve as the associate athletic director for the University of Southern California, CFO for the Los Angeles Raiders, a Green Bay Packers executive, and VP of Football Administration for the Seattle Seahawks. Most recently, Reinfeldt rejoined the Tennessee Titans from 2007-12, first serving as general manager and later as chief operating officer.

“I’m very excited to be joining the NFL office,” said Reinfeldt. “I want to thank Commissioner Goodell and Troy Vincent for this opportunity. I look forward to contributing and assisting the league office and the clubs.”

Pro Football Hall of Fame linebacker Mike Singletary, a two-time AP NFL Defensive Player of the Year, 10-time Pro Bowl selection and Super Bowl champion, played 12 seasons with the Chicago Bears. He coached in various capacities with the Baltimore Ravens, San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings, including two seasons as head coach of the 49ers (2009-10).

“I’m very thankful to have the opportunity to work as an advisor to the NFL,” said Singletary. “Having the opportunity to see the game and impact the game at this level will be a win-win situation.”
