The Taste of the NFL on Saturday evening featuring ESPN journalist Suzy Kolber and former fullback Franco Harris.
Held at the Cobb Galleria Centre, the venue itself rolled out the red carpet and featured food from all 32 cities that represent the NFL. Fans, former hall of fame players and members of the media satisfied their taste buds with all sorts of options, courtesy of some of the best chefs in the country.
However, the real reason for this gathering was, as the Taste of the NFL’s mission statement reads, “To address the needs of the hungry and homeless by raising awareness through special events.”
In addition to the food, auctions took place among those in attendance for items such as Super Bowl tickets and a 14kt white gold necklace. With each $100 purchase of a chance to win the necklace, 800 meals were provided.
Partners for the event included E&J Gallo Winery, who donated all of the wines, and US Foods. The musical guest for the evening was country singer award winner, Martina McBride.
All in all, Taste of the NFL lived up to its standard, with each ticket purchased providing up to 5,600 meals to friends and family in need.
