Friday, February, 3 2017 husband-wife duo David and Tamela Mann will be hosting the anticipated, 18th annual Super Bowl Gospel Celebration(SBGC) in Houston, Texas at the Lakewood Church. This is where faith and football meets. The SBGC started in Miami during the Super Bowl XXXIII weekend and is the first and only gospel concert sanctioned by the NFL, “We founded this event to bring even more inspiration and celebration to one of the biggest events of the year – the Super Bowl,” says Melanie Few-Harrison, Creator & Executive Producer of Super Bowl Gospel Celebration.
This year attendees will be able to enjoy gospel/contemporary Christian and mainstream artist such as CeCe Winans, Yolanda Adams, Natalie Grant, Anthony Hamilton, and hip-hop artist BJ the Chicago Kid just to name a few. Musical director Myron Butler will be returning to lead the covenant NFL Players Choir.
The choir features 40 current and former NFL players and is one of the most sought after performances during Super Bowl weekend. Few-Harrison says “Each year we aim to touch lives in a meaningful way and make the Super Bowl Gospel Celebration bigger than the last with artists and special guests. We look forward to kicking off Super Bowl 51 in Houston and making our mark as the best most uplifting event we’ve had in our 18-year history!” The concert will air on BET and Centric TV on February 5, 2017 at 11:00 AM ET/CT.
