Saints Dominate Lions 45-28

Drew Brees, on the heels of his record breaking season, started the playoffs right where he left off as the Saints offense looked unstoppable in defeating the Detroit Lions in the Wild Card round 45-28.

Drew Brees threw for 466 yards and 3 TDs, as he became the first quarterback in NFL history to have back-to-back playoff games throwing for over 400 yards.

Matt Stafford threw for 380 yards and 3 TDs, but also threw 2 INTs.

The difference at the end of the day was both Brees and the running game.  The Lions were only able to run for 32 yards, while the Saints amassed 167 yards on the ground, and a total of 626 yards in offense.  The Lions were completely unable to stop the Saints offense in the second half, as a 10-7 game turned into a blowout.

The Saints will head West to play the San Francisco 49ers next weekend.
