Although the Pittsburgh Steelers have not yet officially announced Ben Roethlisberger’s status for this weekend’s game, the NFL Newtwork’s Jason LaCanfora said Steelers officials “would be shocked if Ben plays this week.”
Roethlisberger did play on Monday night against the San Francisco 49ers, and threw for over 300 yards, but was hobbling badly and also accounted for 4 turnovers, with 3 interceptions and a fumble.
The Steelers have clinched a playoff berth, and would need help in order to move into the number two seed to get a first round bye, so resting Roethlisberger and trying to enter the playoffs as healthy as possible seems to be the best course of action at this point.
