When you head into training camp, you expect the head coach of a team to maybe chew out a player or two who isn’t performing on the field.
After Buffalo Bills practice today at St. John Fisher College, Rex Ryan was doing a much different kind of chewing.
This one involved dog biscuits.
Ryan participated in the SPCA’s Dog Biscuit Challenge, in which participates create a video of themselves eating a dog biscuit and then challenging other friends to do the same.
The challenge was created to help raise awareness for the Erie County SPCA and their upcoming “Paws in the Park” program.
Not only did Ryan, but team owner Terry Pegula joined in on the fun, after he was “challenged” by his own dog, Sydney.
He in turn put Marcell Dareus on the clock,”Because he’s like a dog on a bone”.
The SPCA, founded in 1867, is the second oldest humane society in America and assists over 12,000 animals a year, performing rescues every single day.
The SPCA of Erie County is completed funded by donations.
The awareness campaign hit close to home, as Ryan is the proud owner of four rescue animals himself, two dogs and two cats.
“Really this is a special thing,” Ryan said. “When I was challenged, I was more than happy to do it.”
