Ray McDonald draws high praise from coach

Ladies and gentlemen, 49ers HC Jim Harbaugh on DL Ray McDonald (via the San Jose Mercury News): "We all felt here's a guy that is just about ready to explode onto the scene. It's like there've been some earthquake tremors reported on the Richter scale. Here's a guy where 'The Big One' could be coming. That's why he was such a high priority for us to re-sign. He had a marvelous game." McDonald tallied 6 solos, a sack, 3 tackles for loss and 3 QB hits against the Seahawks in the opener. Few matchups will be as nice as Seattle, but as Harbaugh said, there's a reason he was a free-agency priority. McDonald could be in for a breakthrough year. Consider his ceiling DL2 for IDP purposes.
