[VIDEO] Baltimore Ravens 3rd round pick, offensive tackle Jah Reid, is a guy kids can look up to. In fact, kids have been looking up to him since middle school when they’d file past him and give him their unwanted milk at lunchtime.
Towering above mere mortals at 6’7” and weighing 327 pounds, he is a slimmer version of the 370 pound kid who got redshirted as a freshman at Central Florida, and was told by coaches to lose weight.
A great role model, he urges kids to work hard and get good grades. He graduated from UCF with a double major in Interpersonal Organizational Communication and Psychology. The Raven’s did their homework too. They traded a sixth round pick to move up 5 spots in the third round to nab Reid for his physical and mental attributes and great work ethic.
He has the opportunity to solve Baltimore’s 2010 right tackle woes and move right into that spot. It will take hard work and effort, but luckily Reid considers that to be one of his greatest strengths, “[The Ravens] are giving me the opportunity to come in and play right away, so I need to come in and do that and show that I’m deserving of the position. I’ve just got to come in to work.”
