Torrey Smith Foundation Reading Room Launch

 On Monday (9/22), Ravens WR Torrey Smith will dedicate a reading room at Benjamin Franklin High School, giving its students a literacy oasis. “Torrey’s Reading Room” was created as part of the charitable programming of the Torrey Smith Foundation and its focus on improving literacy in local schools. The Reading Room, made possible through a grant from the PwC Charitable Foundation, will service 447 students at Benjamin Franklin High School and provide them access to over 700 age-appropriate books, electronic readers and a comfortable place to read.

Ravens Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with PLAY 60 Football Clinic

 

Ravens players, including WR Kamar AikenS Terrence BrooksWR Michael CampanaroS Anthony Levine and LB C.J. Mosley will host a football clinic for Hispanic Heritage Month (Sept. 15 – Oct. 15) this Monday (9/22) at Bonvegna Field in Baltimore. During the clinic, 200 predominantly Hispanic children, ages 5-11, will learn about the fundamentals of football.

All participants in the Hispanic Heritage Football Clinic were pre-registered through Education-Based Latino Outreach (EBLO) and Centro de la Comunidad (Centro), two organizations focused on supporting the Hispanic population in Baltimore and its surrounding areas. The event will also include football instruction by local coaches alongside Ravens players, festive music, appearances by Ravens cheerleaders and team mascot Poe.
