Indianapolis vice chairman Bill Polian says the star quarterback is doing ‘fine’ after his latest neck surgery and will remain on the active roster until doctors say he cannot return this season.
QB Peyton Manning opted to have a small portion of his hip removed to fuse the bones together in his spine.

Usually a cadaver bone is used. The decision gives Manning a better chance of getting back on the field in 2011, but it also puts him at risk of chronic hip pain. It’s an admirable move, but also a reminder that Manning is dealing with a serious situation here.
Polian says Manning is doing “fine” and continues to recuperate from his most recent neck surgery on Thursday. Manning remains on the team’s active roster, though he’s expected to miss at least two months and possibly the entire season.
