The New England Patriots have agreed to terms with tight end Dan Gronkowski, who was with the team for the first two games of the season before injuring his hamstring. He had been released September 23.
The Patriots had planned to re-sign Gronkowski when he was back to full health. He is now reunited with his brother Rob Gronkowsi, who has 22 receptions for the Patriots so far this season, for 327 yards and 5 TDs.
Dan, unlike his brother Rob, has been used more as a blocking tight end whereas Rob is more focused as a receiver, although they both play the same position.
“I’m definitely fire up,” brother Rob said about the re-signing. “I knew he was going to be back. He just had to get a little healthy again. It’s cool he’s back, definitely exciting. I can’t wait to s tart playing with him again.”
