Patrick Peterson’s “Shop with a Jock”

When P2 isn’t taking footballs from opposing teams, he’s giving back to the kids.  This past Monday, December 17th, NFL superstar Patrick Peterson held his annual “Shop with a Jock” event. The eight-time Pro Bowl corner brought in 50 kids from the Roosevelt School District in Phoenix, gave them all $200 gift cards, and 45 minutes on the clock, to buy whatever they wanted.

As they have done for each other many times before, his teammates showed up to make the night even more special. From the rookie Josh Rosen to seasoned vets Larry Fitzgerald and Antoine Bethea (Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee) – the night supporting Peterson’s Foundation for Success was a hit. The All-Pro started the Foundation for Success in 2012 which aims to provide low-income and inner-city youth with opportunities and resources to reach their full potential.

What kind of night would it have been without Big Red himself?!

There are no words that could be strung together that could explain just how much this night meant to the kids and their families. Many years from now, these children might not remember the toys they picked out, but they will remember how good it felt when some of the greatest athletes in the world took time out of their day to hang out and make the holidays a lot better.

Patrick, for consistently setting the bar high, both on and off the field, we thank you.
