Bears beat writer Dan Pompei expects RB Matt Forte to be even more productive in 2011 than he was in 2010. Pompei cites 2 reasons: 1.) “The team and offense was more successful in the second half of the year when Forte’s role was increased. The Bears would be foolish to back off the run this year.” 2.) “The offense should be more efficient given that this will be the second year under [OC] Mike Martz and [offensive line coach] Mike Tice.” We’re right with Pompei here. Forte’s all-around skill-set makes him a perfect fit in Martz’s offense. He’s topped 1,600 total yards in 2 of his 3 pro seasons, and should approach that number again in 2011.
