The Green Bay Packers have re-signed K Mason Crosby. Ted Thompson, Executive Vice President, General Manager and Director of Football Operations, announced the signing Wednesday.
Crosby just completed his ninth season with Green Bay, connecting on 24 of 28 field goals (85.7 percent) and all 36 extra-point tries. He was one of five kickers in the league to convert 100.0 percent of his extra-point attempts, with his 36 being the second most among those players behind only Patriots K Stephen Gostkowski (52). Crosby finished the season with 108 points, marking his franchise-best ninth consecutive season with 100-plus points.
Originally drafted by the Packers as the third of three choices in the sixth round (193rd overall) of the 2007 NFL Draft, Crosby ranks No. 1 in franchise history in points (1,145), field goals (236) and 50-yard field goals (27). He ranks No. 2 in NFL history for the most points in his first nine seasons (2007-15), trailing only Gostkowski (1,179, 2006-14). Crosby has appeared in 144 regular-season games for Green Bay, connecting on 236 of 296 field goals (79.7 percent), and 15 postseason games, hitting 23 of 25 field goals (92.0 percent). Dating back to 2010, he has made 20 consecutive field goals in the postseason, an NFL playoff record.
