Detroit Lions (3-0) at Dallas Cowboys (2-1)
Fresh off two come-from-behind victories, the quarterback Tony Romo and Cowboys face off against the undefeated Detroit Lions. Romo has turned in two gutsy performances in a row, but comes up against Ndamukong Suh and the Lions defense, while the Dallas D tries to slow down Matt Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Lions 4th ranked passing offense.
Key Player Updates
Cowboys QB Tony Romo (rib) was limited in practice all week and is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Lions. He’s fully expected to start, likely after taking another pain-killing injection. It’s a scary matchup against a dominant Detroit front-7 though. And with WR Miles Austin (hamstring) out and WR Dez Bryant (quad) banged-up, Romo is more of a QB2 this week.
Cowboys RB Felix Jones (shoulder) put in a full week of practice and is listed as probable for Sunday’s game against the Lions. He’s healthier this week than he was last, when he carried 14 times for 115 yards. Jones is a good bet for 15+ touches this weekend.
After going through a limited workout on Wednesday, Cowboys WR Dez Bryant (quad) was held out on both Thursday and Friday. He’s a game-time decision for Sunday’s tilt with the Lions. The good news is that it’s a 1 pm ET start, so fantasy owners will know Bryant’s status by noon. If he’s active, though, he’ll need to be considered a risky WR2 option. He was clearly limited by the injury last week and won’t be at 100% this Sunday either. With WR Miles Austin (hamstring) out, Kevin Ogletree and Laurent Robinson would likely start if Bryant can’t. Both would be desperation options only.
