The NFL has waived its rule regarding NFL Players Tweeting during games for the Pro Bowl, and is actually encouraging the players to Tweet from the sidelines. One player you won’t be hearing from during the game is Steelers LB James Harrison.
This represents yet another rule that Harrison is not happy about. Harrison responded via Twitter earlier today: “Why u think the NFL ‘wants us’ to tweet during the Pro Bowl but wont ‘let us’ til 90 min AFTER a real game? I wont tweet during today’s game”
Interesting point by Harrison. The NFL essentially wants the player to help market the Pro Bowl via Twitter, but in more high demand games during the season, they want to better control the flow of information. Harrison has a long standing issue with a lot of NFL rules, particularly related to fines for on-field hits, but he does make an interesting point here.
