Titans QB Jake Locker had a chance to take a stranglehold on the starting job in last night’s preseason game against the Bucs. He failed to come through. Drawing his first pro start, Locker finished just 4 of 11 for 21 yards and a pick. His accuracy and decision-making were both shaky. The good news for Locker fans is that QB Matt Hasselbeck didn’t do anything to lock down the job either. He went 4 of 5 for just 29 yards. We still think Locker will come out on top here, but this is a reminder that he’s a work in progress. His week-to-week passing numbers figure to be erratic this season. But his rushing ability — he ran twice for 24 yards on Friday night — will help his fantasy output. We’ll keep drafting him as a high-upside fantasy backup.
