They say everything happens for a reason, and there isn’t a better example than the recently voided trade of Jerome Harrison from the Lions to the Eagles, in exchange for Ronnie Brown.
The Eagles doctors gave Harrison his physical to clear him for the trade, and they discovered a brain tumor, ESPN is reporting. The discovery nullified the trade, but might have saved Harrison’s life.
Without the deal, it’s unlikely he would have gotten the same level of physical and the tumor could have gone undetected. He is now receiving treated.
Sources reported that Harrison is not expected to play for the rest of this season, but his long-term recovery prognosis appears to be good. He has additional visits with doctors scheduled for this week.
