“Mafia Monday” is a popular feature in the #BillsMafia movement. Every week, a selected member of the #FAMbase is interviewed. This is an interactive element where members of our community can get to know each other and build unity by becoming a little transparent.
Week 12′s Mafia Monday interview is one of the first fans to get on board with the #BillsMafia movement last summer, Nick Primerano (aka @RealNickPrim on Twitter).
How long have you been a Bills Fan, and what’s your earliest Bills memory?
I’d have to say my whole life. I don’t remember ever not donning the red, white and blue. My earliest memory is when my grandfather gave me my first Bills jersey – a Rawlings Jim Kelly jersey about 40 sizes too big. I still wear it from time to time.
What is your favorite Bills memory?
Last season during the Patriots win, when David Nelson caught a pass along the sidelines and lost his helmet. He popped up angry and screamed, “Come on! Lets go!” That was the turning point of that game. He knew how important that game was to the fans.
What was the first Bills game you attended?
My first Bills game was the Greatest Comeback in NFL history. Section 122, row 22. That memory speaks for itself. Funny part is when I tell people I was there, they say they were too. I think 4.7 million people were at that game.
Do you own any Bills jerseys, and if so what ones?
Jim Kelly, Poz, Fitz.
Favorite current Bill?
No doubt – George Wilson. He embodies what it’s like to be a Bill.
Favorite former Bill?
Jeff Nixon, safety from the early 80s.
What is your favorite team to watch lose to the Bills?
The Dolphins. Any man who wears teal deserves a whooping.
Best tailgate food?
I grill pork loin in Lot 5. Swing by with a roll sometime and make a sandwich.
Other sports you enjoy following? If so, favorite teams?
Obviously the Sabres, but I’m also an Atlanta Braves fan.
Lastly, what does “Bills Mafia” mean to you?
We are all that is good with the future of this team. We aren’t about negativity or hating on our team. I believe in these players and will support them until they retire or leave – and I think that’s most important. We support our team through wins or losses – that’s BillsMafia.
