The Kansas City Chiefs were favorites to win the AFC West this year. Instead, they find themselves in last place of their division at 1-5.
Now wide receiver Dwayne Bowe, who is playing under the Franchise Tag after he missed all offseason practices and most of training camp, wants out of Kansas City “very badly” according to a report by Yahoo’s Jason Cole.
Bowe, who had back to back 1,000-yard seasons currently, has 423-yards on 34 receptions and 3 touchdowns. Bowe has expressed interest in signing a long term deal but the Chiefs have been hesitant to do so at this time.
With the NFL Trade Deadline pushed back and are only a few more weeks away there are few teams who would benefit from his services. The New York Jets are a possibility as their receivers have been bitten by the injury bug, including losing Santonio Holmes for the season.
The Miami Dolphins are also a team that could use an upgrade at receiver after they traded Brandon Marshall to Chicago and cornerback Vontae Davis to the Colts for early draft picks. Cole said the Chiefs and Dolphins are talking while calling Bowe a “logical target” for Miami.
