After the Dolphin’s abysmal performance in Sunday’s game versus the Tennessee Titans, fans have every reason to be extremely upset. Ryan Tannehill, who just two games ago was seen as a rising young quarterback, threw 3 interceptions and had a passer rating of only 42.4. The top performer for the Dolphins was Brian Hartline, whose stats were far from amazing. He had 8 receptions for 89 yards and no touchdowns. The Dolphin’s star running back, Reggie Bush, did not even play the full game after his fumble led to a Titans TD.
The only scoring drive Miami had ended in a field goal by Dan Carpenter. The defense looked as if they had given up trying, even before the game started. On Twitter, FinsNation blew up with tweets conveying their disappointment with a struggling Dolphins team. Manny P, a member of FinsNation, tweeted “What a poor performance. Seems they weren’t into the game at all. Very disappointed.”
If the Dolphins continue to play with little enthusiasm and drive, the fans will continue to lose interest. During Sunday’s game, when the players left for half-time, they were booed off of the field by the hometown fans.
The Dolphin’s next game is on Thursday on the road versus the Buffalo Bills, their AFC East rivals. If the Fins lose to a virtually non-existent Bills defense, fans will lose all hope. The Dolphins still have a minute chance of grasping a play-off birth, but it is so slim that fans have already placed that hope in the back of their minds.
Thursday’s game will definitely determine how the remainder of the Dolphin’s season will pan out and the type of support the Fins will receive from fans in the future.
