DeAngelo Williams Chats with Texans Safety Glover Quin

As the NFLPA One Team for the Cure campaign continues, several players are featured for their role as ambassadors in a series of exclusive interviews during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This week, star running back DeAngelo Williams chats with Texans safety Glover Quin about Quin’s involvement in the cause. Quin co-hosted an event in conjunction with the NFLPA honoring breast cancer survivors in Houston.

DeAngelo Williams: Why are you involved with breast cancer awareness?

Glover Quin: It’s a great cause. I mean, those women go through so much and I think the world needs to know more to help with breast cancer. It’s a lot for a family to go through, so anything I can do to help bring awareness to breast cancer, I am more than willing to do.

DW: What does this cause mean to you?

GQ: I’ve had friends, and even my wife’s mother, has dealt with cancer. Just to be involved with something like this and to have the cause to help with breast cancer means a lot. Those women go through so much. Breast cancer is a serious thing, so being able to shed the light, bring some awareness, help and hopefully bring some joy to their lives—that’s a great thing.

DW: What would you like to see happen as we move forward with this initiative?

GQ: I would like to see all types of people getting behind it and supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I’d like to see people help out those who can’t afford the treatment or who can’t make it to the doctor. This is a serious matter and these women need a lot of help. If a lot of people can get behind it and bring their support, it would bring a lot of awareness to it and maybe we can get something done.
