DE Charles Johnson has agreed to a new 6-year, $76 million contract with the Panthers. It was wise for Carolina to make Johnson a priority. The 25-year-old broke out as a 1st-time starter in 2010 with 11.5 sacks and 62 total tackles. He also rated 2nd in the league in ProFootballFocus.com’s Pass Rushing Productivity. That means Johnson’s high sack total was also backed up by pressure that didn’t show in his stat line. Johnson looks like a sure top-10 IDP at the position going forward.
