The Colts are on track to tie one of the most infamous records in sports – the 2008 Detroit Lions “perfect” 0-16 season. Now NFL Network’s Jason LaCanfora is reporting that if the Colts end up winless, they will fire head coach Jim Caldwell.
It’s hard to see it going otherwise, particularly with a team that won 10 games last season. Losing Peyton Manning was a tremendous loss, but to say he accounted for all of their wins is a frightening statement on the coachign staff.
Since the merger, only the Lions went 0-16, and the 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers finished 0-14.
