Brandon Marshall Wins Pro Bowl MVP with 4 TDs

Dolphins’ wide receiver Brandon Marshall put up big numbers this season and was rewarded with his third trip to the Pro Bowl,  his first since joining the Dolphins.  And he made the most of the opportunity, has he was named of the Pro Bowl shootout, catching 6 passes for 177 yards and a Pro Bowl record 4 TDs.

Marshall spread the joy around, as he caught one TD from Ben Roethlisberger (77 yards), one from Philip Rivers (29 yards) and two from Andy Dalton (47 yards and 3 yards).  After the game, he announced he was giving the car he received as MVP to his mom.

ProPlayerInsiders caught up with Marshall while he was in Hawaii this week prepping for the game.  Marshall said “it was a tough season for him and the Dolphins since they didn’t have consistency in the quarterback position.”

Miami’s starting quarterback, Chad Henne, was lost for the season with a shoulder injury and replaced by Matt Moore.  In his post-game interview as Pro Bowl MVP, he reiterated that thought, saying that he missed playing with Jay Cutler and emphasizing how great it was to catch passes from the Pro Bowl quarterbacks.

Marshall says during the off-season he “intends to work hard and take care of himself” so he can start strong next season.  He enjoys mixing things up during his workouts music-wise and as for his favorite workout song his default is the “shuffle.”

Off the field, one of his favorite activities is walking his three pit bulls: Jugo, Sushi and Buddha.

This season, Marshall finished with 81 receptions for 1,214 yards and 6 touchdowns.  His 15 yards per reception is the highest total he has recorded since his rookie season, and he helped the Dolphins rally to win 6 of their last 9 games after a tough 0-7 start.

While he wasn’t able to taste the post season this year,  the strong way the Dolphins finished down the stretch makes it look like Marshall and the Dolphins have a great shot for a post season berth next year.
